Message Zsport, the local San Antonio Club (the same that hosted the 09 ZCON), held it's tri-annual Tech Day this past weekend. Some of us were up at the crack of dawn to get an early start on helping out some of our fellow Z members with whatever they can find. R&N Garage has opened it's doors for us this time, as well as in the past, to have full access to the shop for the day.

Guys from the club, came over and we helped and aided with everything from brake swaps to HICAS deletes as long as they are a Zsport member. Some of the more skilled Z enthusiasts mechanics will often teach others on what it takes to do whatever job they are doing that day. Folks like Luis, Russell, myself and others will often teach a quick tech class to some of the folks that are determined to sit on the sidelines. Rob, owner of R&N Garage, is a wealth of Nissan knowledge who often comes to the rescue with many great tips and trade secrets.

Here are a few pics from the day courtesy of Luis C and Russell Zotz.

The front of R&N Garage on a pretty normal day.

Me under the car with Rob (owner) getting ready to install a Motordyne Exhaust.

Another customers car.

Dennis Witikend's bright yellow 300ZX. Looks like we caught him off guard.

I get started to do a compression test on Motormutt's TT.

Me and Rob do all the work while Motormutt mysteriously heads to the little boys room till we are done. :)

All the lifts were full so we made do with whatever way we could to hoist up cars.

The only time in my life that I've ever seen Russell Zotz turn a wrench. The car later flipped over 12 times and burst into flames.

A very small amount of our Zsport club and the guys from R&N Garage. BTW, it was freakin cold and wind when we took that pic.

All in all it was a great event. Lots of guys got their cars worked on and we helped a lot of folks overcome their fear of working on their own cars. Thanks again to R&N Garage for opening their doors to us once again. They are a fully professional shop that I highly recommend checking out if in the south Texas area and need some Z work done.
